The Purple Parade @ TVPS
At Townsville, we proudly embody our values of Diligence, Aspiration, Respect, and Empathy through inclusive initiatives supporting Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), aligning with Singapore's Purple Parade movement.
Our students demonstrated empathy by pledging personal statements to understand and include others with different abilities.
Our parents' support group created immersive tactile booths, allowing students to step into the shoes of differently abled individuals while our staff showed solidarity and wore purple on Children's Day, embracing the CARE principles of Compassion, Awareness, Respect, and Engagement.
We also partnered with the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped, engaging their mobile massage services and the Down Syndrome Association and Crunchy Teeth, a ground-up initiative supporting Singapore's autistic community, with a merchandise booth during our staff retail therapy event.
Through these efforts, we foster a culture of inclusivity, empathy, and understanding, making a positive impact on our school community!
