Mother Tongue Fortnight
Mother Tongue Fortnight at Townsville is an exciting two-week celebration where students immerse themselves in a vibrant array of activities centered on Chinese, Malay, or Tamil language and culture. In addition to learning about traditional culture through engaging lessons, students participate in games, quizzes, storytelling sessions, food-tasting experiences, fashion shows, recitals, and storytelling competitions, among other enriching activities.
These events provide students with opportunities to go beyond their textbooks, experiencing the authentic use of language while deepening their cultural knowledge in a meaningful and enjoyable way.

P4 Language & Cultural Camp
Each year, our Primary 4 students taking Chinese, Malay, or Tamil participate in the engaging and interactive P4 Language and Cultural Camp. This program is thoughtfully designed to enhance their language skills while incorporating cultural elements. Through exploring various cultural topics, students develop their presentation and communication skills in a fun and meaningful way.

P1 Learning Journey to Theatre Performance
All Primary 1 students studying Chinese Language as their Mother Tongue will take part in the "Play in Mandarin" programme. Conversation Chinese & Malay
Our students have the opportunity to attend Conversational Chinese and Malay classes, promoting cross-cultural understanding and offering exposure to a third language. In these sessions, they learn to greet one another, introduce themselves in a new language, and explore the food, traditions, costumes, and festivals of another culture. These experiences deepen their appreciation of Singapore’s rich multicultural heritage.
