Media Club (Infocomm & Photography Club)

CCA Objectives:
To empower our members to become savvy users of the internet and media tools to express their creativity.

Description:

At Infocomm Club, pupils expand their creativity and through application of ICT as they embark on various school projects and competitions. Through club activities, student can appreciate better and creatively apply their skills to communicate ideas and use them in their school project work. The focus area of Infocomm Club @TVPS is digital media. Hence members get to learn photo editing, video filming, stop motion filming and video editing.

Photography Club

CCA Objectives:
To equip pupils with :
1. technical skills to stimulate and expand pupils’ creativity in digital still photography
2. avenues to take up leadership roles as team leaders and be assistant school photographers

Description:
Creating interest and awareness in basic digital photography for beginner and budding photographers. Pupils will learn the functions of the digital camera and learn basic photographic techniques.

CCA Achievements:
1. 3R Photography Competition 2012, First Prize for Entry "Floating 3R Ambassadors" by Jasper Yap Zong Han
2. National Photography Festival 2013, Consolation Prize for entry "Flying Colours" by Risinu Cooray

CCA Objectives:
To inculcate in pupils the need for a healthier lifestyle

Vision: To be the CLUB that is the epitome of good health and good culinary practices.

Mission: To nurture our young people to become health conscious individuals who are resourceful and independent in all matters pertaining to food.

Description:
This club is for both boys and girls of all ethnic groups who are interested in learning about healthy lifestyle and culinary skills. Pupils in this club will learn basic cooking and baking as well as other food preparation techniques.

CCA Achievements:
To be featured on Media Corp Channel 8 programme on – Every School is a Good School.

Robotics Club

CCA Objectives:
To equip pupils with basic programming skills and problem solving skills.

Description:
Robotics Club provides our pupils with opportunities to learn about the fundamentals of Robot’s World and Programming of Robots. A robot is a device that is built to independently perform actions and interact with its surroundings.

Through the processes of building functional robots and programming them to perform tasks, the pupils work on their team building skills, problem solving skills as well as communication skills. These pupils learn to identify strengths and weakness in themselves so as to push their team to perform well in competitions.

English Drama Club

CCA Objectives:
To promote interest in English Language
• To equip students with presentation skills and stage presence
• To provide a platform for students to express themselves confidently through various literary elements
• To incorporate SEL into the various literary works
• To be able to work effectively in a team

Description:
A CCA brought to you by teachers who love English for students who love English! Founded in 2016, the English Drama Club aims to inspire students discover and expand their knowledge and imagination in language and literature. Activities include speech and drama, public speaking and creative writing.
